Blunders and Absurdities.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

It's true, you know. Each day, we wake up to a life over which we have - even if it doesn't always feel that way- complete control. We are in charge of whether we greet the day enthusiastically and with a spirit of adventure, or whether we greet it as we might a distant cousin we don't much care for. "Oh…it's you." Every single day is a new opportunity to get right what we might have messed up yesterday, as well as a new opportunity to let go of whatever old baggage is weighing us down.

It helps me to remember that nothing is permanent. This state of anxiety I'm currently living in? It will pass. I will survive it. If I'm living the way I endeavor to live, I will even learn from it and come to appreciate its presence in my life. Every mistake and every challenge is an opportunity to grow. If we use these opportunities to their fullest extent, we will live into the life we want to build for ourselves, and we will learn to smile at the "blunders and absurdities".

Happy New Year, everyone. May it be your best year yet!
